To Be Or Not To Be

As time goes on plans always change. When trying to make a series on a zero to low budget, you'd be amazed how often that happens. Some of you may remember that 'Bouncers' was meant to be released in three 15 minute chunks. Those plans were made in a time when things were different.
It appears that it will take a while to go that far, so we decided to shoot for a weekly-fornightly release. To be able to pull this off, we'd have to get a certain amount of preproduction completed, which we almost have. The one thing that's slowing us down now is the lack of a devoted texture/skin artist. Sky Is a modeler first, then a skinner, so it's a fat strain on him to do all the lip synch (and facial expressions) for all the characters by himself. We did have a skin artist, but when he left it was kind of a "good riddance to bad rubbish" sorta case as he never actually did anything while he was with us, so as it stands the lip synch work has to be done by guys who already have a lot on their plates. The opening scene is nearly ready to go out, it's just the skins that are not ready.
The suprise project sits in it's box, to emerge one day when the workload is less.
That too began life during a time of different circumstances. It was when we were too busy to work on something as demanding as Bouncers (due to 'Real Life'), so I felt production of something simpler, that could be released in the mean time would be better than nothing. As fate would have it, work on Bouncers resumed before that project could emerge from it's womb, though it was so close. In a decision between the two, 'Bouncers' is the obvious option (obvious for us anyway). Now we're having to hold back and try not to release 'Bouncers' before it's actually ready. Having worked on it for so long the anxiety to get it 'out there' is really building up. One thing we'll never do is release it without lip synch. I'd sooner replace everyones head with a talking sock-puppet. It has got to the point where I will soon have to reconnect my graphics tablet and get to work (and God knows I'm no painter). We'll see what happens. We're soo close, yet soo far. For now, I'll try and tweak a few things, get sound effects to be a little cooler etc. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
