Left, Right and Centre

It hasn't been THAT long since my last post but I feel like its been ages.
We're working feverishly to get the first four episodes of Bouncers finished in time for the festival, and there are so many other things happening around us.
First Echon has done another fat set of updates to EGL, one of which includes support for Q3BSP's.
Echon is just going crazy with ideas, and seems to be making cool additions every week. What's better is that Echon is gonna try and pull of Q3BSP support without breaking Q2 network protocol (specially for BPS it seems :-).
This could mean some GREAT things for us. First of all we wouldn't have the crazy shape limitations that we do right now. Those are VERY annoying. Secondly, with any luck we should be able to put a lot more static meshes in our maps which in the end means more immersive scenery. Improved map ligting, directional lighting on models, the list goes on. Lets hope it all works.

Bouncers is coming along nicely and we hope to coincide the release with the site upcoming re-design (after the festival deadline). Although we should have all 4 epsisodes done by then we'll probably stil release one a week for a month.

The new site should have some new tutorials and articles including a detailed review of Dakine Wave's new Machinima tool, "Virtualstage 2". So far they seem to have addressed quite a few of the major issues from the first version. Should be fun as this is the first Machinima tool aimed at the layman.
Of course the site re-design will mean new spangly forums etc. Xavier seems to be spending quite some time on it.

For the passed few days I've been doing lots of animation and lots of map editing. It's amazing how pre-production seems to also take up much of production time. Anyway, with all these scenes getting done we should be able to release a nice little trailer before ignition. The stuff is looking sweet. Has more custom animation than I thought but thats all good as it end up being more unique (and God knows that can't be bad right now).
A preview version of the opening scene has been shown to a few people and the feedback has been great. The next month should be sweet for the fans. It's been a long wait but it should be more than worth it... provided there are no more additions to the already LONG list of delays.
